Initiating the process, zinc oxide ore is meticulously combined with coke powder or smokeless crushed coal in exact measurements. This perfect blend is skillfully introduced into the rotary kiln via the kiln tail discharge pipe. As the rotary kiln elegantly rotates, the materials gracefully progress forward. A forced blast creates a high-temperature reaction zone, achieving temperatures of 1000-1200ºC within the kiln. This extreme heat facilitates the reduction of zinc metal compounds by a carbon reducing agent, converting them into metal zinc vapor that transitions to the gas phase. In this phase, the zinc vapor engages with oxygen from the air, transforming into zinc oxide dust, which is expertly captured by our advanced dust collection system alongside the flue gas. The result is the efficient extraction of low-grade zinc oxide product. Additionally, metals abundant in zinc, such as lead and indium, undergo reduction and oxidation, enhancing the final product, while copper and precious metals like gold and silver remain within the kiln slag, ensuring their integrity.
