This innovative process, known as the rotary kiln volatilization method, begins with the meticulous blending of zinc oxide ore with precisely measured coke powder or smokeless crushed coal. This impeccably balanced mixture is expertly introduced into the rotary kiln via the kiln tail discharge pipe. As the kiln gracefully rotates, the materials progress seamlessly. A powerful forced blast creates a high-temperature reaction environment within the kiln, achieving remarkable temperatures of 1000-1200ºC. This intense heat enables the reduction of zinc metal compounds through an efficient carbon reducing agent, transforming them into zinc metal vapor, which transitions into the gaseous phase. In this state, the zinc vapor engages with oxygen, converting into zinc oxide dust, which is skillfully collected by the dust collection system along with the flue gas. This culminates in the creation of a low-grade zinc oxide product. Additionally, zinc-rich metals like lead and indium undergo reduction and oxidation, enhancing the end product, while other precious metals such as copper, gold, and silver elegantly remain within the kiln slag.
