This extraordinary process, known as the rotary kiln volatilization method, commences when zinc oxide ore is masterfully combined with coke powder or smokeless crushed coal in precise proportions. The expertly mixed blend is then introduced into the rotary kiln via the kiln tail discharge pipe. As the kiln elegantly rotates, the materials are gently propelled forward. With the aid of a powerful forced blast, a high-temperature reaction zone is meticulously crafted, reaching an impressive 1000-1200ºC within the kiln. This intense thermal environment enables the reduction of zinc metal compounds using a carbon reducing agent, transforming them into metal zinc vapor that seamlessly transitions into the gas phase. Here, the zinc vapor gracefully interacts with air's oxygen, oxidizing into zinc oxide dust, which is meticulously captured by the sophisticated dust collection system alongside the flue gas. The end result is the extraction of a refined, low-grade zinc oxide product. Moreover, metals enriched with zinc, such as lead and indium, undergo a remarkable reduction and oxidation process, enhancing the final product, while copper and precious metals like gold and silver remain harmoniously within the kiln slag.
