Zinc oxide ore is meticulously blended with coke powder or smokeless crushed coal in exact proportions, ensuring optimal results. This expertly mixed blend is then introduced into the rotary kiln through a kiln tail discharge pipe. As the kiln elegantly rotates, the materials progress smoothly, driven by a powerful forced blast. Within the kiln's core, a high-temperature reaction zone, reaching a formidable 1000-1200ºC, sets the stage for the reduction of zinc metal compounds. Carbon acts as a reducing agent, converting these compounds into zinc vapor, which seamlessly transitions into the gas phase. Oxygen from the air oxidizes the zinc vapor into zinc oxide dust, which is masterfully captured alongside flue gas by the dust collection system. This process yields a low-grade zinc oxide product, while zinc-rich metals like lead and indium undergo reduction and oxidation, enhancing the final product quality. Meanwhile, copper and precious metals, such as gold and silver, remain elegantly ensconced within the kiln slag.
