The metallic magnesium production line is an expertly engineered rotary kiln, meticulously crafted to harmonize with the distinct calcining attributes of dolomite and meet the precise demands of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. It stands as the cornerstone of the dolomite calcining system. This state-of-the-art products emerging from the rotary kiln consistently demonstrate stable and homogeneous quality,, boasting remarkable activity and minimal ignition loss. This ensures full compliance with Pidgeon method standards for magnesium smelting, thereby enhancing the magnesium extraction rate, optimizing silicon utilization, and significantly reducing production and consumption costs associated with metal magnesium.. It is the quintessential equipment for dolomite calcination within the magnesium sector, setting the benchmark for unparalleled excellence.
The comprehensive magnesiumsmelting process encompasses raw material storage, dolomite calcination, grinding, briquetting, reduction, and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite is precision-crushed into optimal sizes (20-40mm) by specialized crushers, then expertly sintered in a rotary kiln and cooled effectively by an advanced cooler. It is further pulverized into fine powder using state-of-the-art ball mill machinery and formed into balls using a high-performance ball press. The calcination occurs in a rotary or vertical kiln, transforming dolomite into calcined white. This is then meticulously combined with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to create the perfect dough, placed in a heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tank, and subjected to reduction in a furnace, reaching temperatures of 1200-1250°C and a vacuum of 1.33Pa. The process culminates in the extraction of crude magnesium, followed by flux refining, ingot casting, and meticulous surface treatment to yield premium magnesium ingots.
