This kiln is the cornerstone of the dolomite calcining system, delivering remarkable efficiency and precision. products produced by this state-of-the-art rotary kiln showcase exceptional stability and consistent quality, boasting high reactivity and minimal loss on ignition, fulfilling the rigorous requirements of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting with ease. This sophisticated design enhances the magnesium extraction rate and boosts silicon utilization, significantly reducing production costs and metallic magnesium consumption,. It is essential equipment for dolomite calcination in the magnesium manufacturing sector.
The complete process of magnesiumsmelting unfolds through a meticulously orchestrated series of stages: starting with raw material storage, progressing through dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and culminating in reduction and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite is crushed into optimal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled and finely ground by a ball mill. This powder is then compressed into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is uniformly mixed with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a cohesive mixture, placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Inside the reduction furnace, the temperature rises to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is extracted, further refined, cast into ingots, and subjected to surface treatment to yield pristine magnesium ingots.
