Within this intense thermal environment, zinc metal compounds undergo a captivating transformation through reduction by a carbon reducing agent, evolving into metal zinc vapor that seamlessly shifts into the gas phase. This vapor then encounters ambient oxygen, culminating in the formation of zinc oxide dust, which is skillfully captured by the dust collection system alongside the flue gas, resulting in the extraction of a low-grade zinc oxide product. Moreover, zinc-rich metals such as lead and indium are also reduced and oxidized, enhancing the final product, while copper and precious metals like gold and silver are elegantly retained within the kiln slag.
