This state-of-the-art method, known as the rotary kiln volatilization method, commences with the precise blending of zinc oxide ore with either coke powder or smokeless crushed coal. This meticulously crafted mixture is then introduced into the rotary kiln via the kiln tail discharge pipe. As the kiln majestically rotates, the materials advance in harmony, propelled by a meticulously controlled forced blast that creates a high-temperature reaction zone, reaching a formidable 1000-1200ºC. Within this intense heat, a transformation occurs: the reduction of zinc metal compounds by a carbon reducing agent, evolving into metal zinc vapor. This vapor skillfully mingles with oxygen, becoming oxidized into zinc oxide dust, which is adeptly captured by the dust collection system, together with the flue gas. The result is the extraction of a premium low-grade zinc oxide product. Additionally, zinc-rich metals like lead and indium undergo a delicate dance of reduction and oxidation, enriching the final product, while copper and precious metals such as gold and silver remain gracefully ensconced within the kiln slag.
