This sophisticated technique kicks off with the meticulous blending of zinc oxide ore with either coke powder or smokeless crushed coal in exact proportions. This expertly crafted mixture is then introduced into the rotary kiln via the kiln tail discharge pipe. As the kiln rotates with elegance, the materials gently make their way forward. With the assistance of a forced blast, a high-temperature reaction zone is forged within the kiln, reaching a remarkable temperature range of 1000-1200ºC. This searing heat enables the carbon reducing agent to facilitate the reduction of zinc metal compounds, transforming them into metal zinc vapor that seamlessly migrates into the gas phase. In this phase, the zinc vapor encounters air, resulting in its oxidation into zinc oxide dust, which is masterfully collected by the dust collection system, alongside the flue gas. This process yields a refined low-grade zinc oxide product. Additionally, metals enriched with zinc, such as lead and indium, undergo reduction and oxidation, further enhancing the final product. Meanwhile, copper and precious metals like gold and silver elegantly remain within the kiln slag, untouched by the process.
