Product Introduction
The metallic magnesium production line is a masterfully designed rotary kiln, expertly engineered to perfectly match the unique calcining characteristics of dolomite and meet the specific requirements of the renowned Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. This essential component forms the backbone of the dolomite calcining system. This cutting-edge products produced by the rotary kiln consistently boast stable and uniform quality, demonstrating impressive activity and minimal ignition loss. This ensures full compliance with the exacting standards of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. The result is enhanced magnesium extraction efficiency and optimized silicon consumption, leading to significantly reduced production costs associated with metallic magnesium. It is the ultimate equipment for dolomite calcination in the magnesium industry, setting an unmatched standard for excellence.
The complete magnesiumsmelting process encompasses raw material storage, dolomite calcination, grinding, briquetting, reduction, and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite undergoes precision crushing to ideal sizes (20-40mm) with specialized crushers, followed by sintering in a rotary kiln and effective cooling with advanced coolers. It is then finely pulverized through state-of-the-art ball mills and formed into balls using high-performance ball presses. The calcination occurs in either a rotary or vertical kiln, transforming dolomite into calcined white. This is meticulously blended with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to create a perfect dough, placed in a heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tank, and subjected to reduction in a furnace at temperatures of 1200-1250°C and a vacuum of 1.33Pa. The process concludes with the extraction of crude magnesium, followed by flux refining, ingot casting, and thorough surface treatment to produce premium-grade magnesium ingots.
