The metallic magnesium production line is a specially designed rotary kiln, meticulously crafted to perfection by aligning with the unique calcining properties of dolomite. It adeptly fulfills the process demands of the renowned Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting, standing as the cornerstone equipment in the dolomite calcining system. The products emanating from this advanced rotary kiln are distinguished by their remarkable stability and consistently uniform quality,boasting high activity coupled with low ignition loss. This leads to a significant reduction in the production efforts and consumption of metallic magnesium,making it the quintessential equipment for those in the magnesium industry, specifically tailored for calcining dolomite to perfection.
The comprehensive process of magnesium smelting encompasses several critical stages: starting with raw material storage, dolomite calcination, through to grinding, briquetting, reduction, and refining. Initially, raw dolomite is expertly crushed into qualified fragments (20-40mm) using a crusher. It is then meticulously sintered in a rotary kiln, followed by a cooling phase via a cooler. The material is subsequently ground into fine powder by a ball mill and pressed into balls using a ball press. Within the rotary or vertical kiln, dolomite undergoes calcination to become calcined white. This is then crushed and thoroughly mixed with ferrosilicon powder and fluorite powder, creating a dough-like consistency. This mixture is carefully placed into a heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tank, situated in a reduction furnace, and subjected to conditions of 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa. The crude magnesium derived undergoes flux refining, ingot casting, and surface treatment to emerge as pristine finished magnesium ingots, ready for market utilization.
