The metallic magnesium production line stands out with its specialized rotary kiln, meticulously developed with an acute understanding of the calcining characteristics of dolomite and the precise process demands of the renowned Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. This equipment shines as the linchpin of the dolomite calcining system. The products crafted by this rotary kiln boast a consistently stable and uniform quality,featuring high activity and a remarkably low ignition loss. This ensures complete compliance with the Pidgeon method's stringent process requirements for magnesium smelting. The enhanced magnesium extraction rate and elevated silicon utilization rate contribute to significantly reducing both production and consumption of metallic magnesium,thus making it an exceptional choice for dolomite calcination within the magnesium industry.
The magnesium smelting process seamlessly encompasses raw material storage, dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, followed by reduction and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite is meticulously crushed into qualified materials (20-40mm) using a crusher. It then advances to a rotary kiln for sintering, is cooled efficiently by a cooler, finely ground into powder by a ball mill, and expertly pressed into balls by a ball press. The calcination occurs in either a rotary kiln or a vertical kiln, converting dolomite into calcined white. This is then carefully crushed and thoroughly mixed with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a dough-like mixture, which is placed into a heat-resistant stainless-steel reduction tank. Within the reduction furnace, the mixture is reduced at temperatures of 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa. The resultant crude magnesium undergoes flux refining, ingot casting, and surface treatment to yield top-quality finished magnesium ingots.
