The Metallic Magnesium Production Line is a specially designed rotary kiln, meticulously developed by Shandong Bullis Metallurgical Engineering Co., Ltd. This kiln is crafted to align with the unique calcining characteristics of dolomite and the precise process demands of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. As the cornerstone of the dolomite calcining system, it serves as a crucial component in achieving optimal magnesium production. The Products produced by this advanced rotary kiln boast unparalleled stability and uniform quality., exhibit high activity levels, and demonstrate low ignition loss. This ensures they fully adhere to the rigorous process standards of the Pidgeon method, substantially boosting the magnesium extraction rate and optimizing silicon utilization. As a result, production efficiency is enhanced, leading to reduced metal magnesium consumption and cost savings. It stands out as the ideal solution for calcining dolomite within the magnesium industry, setting a new standard for efficiency and quality.
The comprehensive process of magnesium smelting encompasses several stages: raw material storage, dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, followed by reduction and refining. Initially, raw dolomite undergoes crushing to meet size specifications (20-40mm), then is sintered within a rotary kiln, and subsequently cooled via a cooler. It is then ground into fine powder using a ball mill and shaped into balls by a ball press. This calcined dolomite is combined with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a cohesive dough, which is placed in a heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tank. Subjected to reduction at 1200-1250°C and a vacuum of 1.33Pa, crude magnesium is extracted. This crude magnesium is then refined through flux refining, ingot casting, and surface treatment, culminating in the production of finished magnesium ingots.
