Product Introduction
The metallic magnesium production line is an expertly crafted rotary kiln, meticulously engineered to cater to the unique calcining needs of dolomite and the demanding processes of the renowned Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. This kiln is the cornerstone of the dolomite calcining system, offering unmatched efficiency and precision. products produced by this cutting-edge rotary kiln exemplify remarkable stability and consistent quality, exhibiting high reactivity and minimal loss on ignition, they seamlessly meet the stringent requirements of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. This innovative design enhances the magnesium extraction rate and optimizes silicon usage, dramatically reducing production costs and metallic magnesium consumption,. It stands as the essential apparatus for dolomite calcination in the magnesium production industry.
The comprehensive magnesiumsmelting process unfolds through a series of carefully orchestrated stages. It begins with raw material storage, proceeds through dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and finally reaches reduction and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite is crushed into ideal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely ground by a ball mill. This powder is then compacted into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is uniformly mixed with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders, forming a cohesive paste, and placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. In the reduction furnace, the temperature is elevated to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is extracted, further refined, cast into ingots, and subjected to surface treatment to yield pristine magnesium ingots.
