The meticulously streamlined process of magnesium smelting involves several critical stages: from raw material storage through dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, to reduction and refining. Initially, the raw material, dolomite, is crushed into precisely measured particles (20-40mm) using a crusher. These are then sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a specialized cooler, ground into fine powder by a ball mill, and finally pressed into balls by a ball press. Once in the rotary or vertical kiln, the dolomite undergoes calcination, transforming into calcined white, which is then meticulously mixed with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a homogeneous dough. This mixture is placed into a heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tank, subjected to temperatures of 1200-1250°C and a vacuum of 1.33Pa within a reduction furnace. The crude magnesium extracted undergoes flux refining, ingot casting, and precise surface treatment to produce the highest quality finished magnesium ingots.
