This design not only improves the magnesium extraction rate but also enhances silicon utilization, significantly lowering overall production costs and the consumption of precious metallic magnesium,. It stands as the indispensable equipment for dolomite calcination within the magnesium manufacturing sector.
The complete process of magnesiumsmelting unfolds through a series of meticulous stages: beginning with raw material storage, followed by dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and culminating in reduction and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite is broken down into optimal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher. It is then sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely ground by a ball mill. This powder is subsequently compressed into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is then uniformly mixed with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to create a cohesive dough, which is placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Within the reduction furnace, the temperature is elevated to a precise 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is astutely extracted, further refined, cast into ingots, and finally subjected to surface treatment to yield finished magnesium ingots of the highest quality.
