Known as the rotary kiln volatilization method, this brilliant process initiates when zinc oxide ore is meticulously mixed with coke powder or smokeless crushed coal in flawless proportions. This perfectly crafted blend is then introduced into the rotary kiln via the kiln tail discharge pipe. As the rotary kiln elegantly rotates, the materials gracefully advance. Bolstered by a powerful blast, a high-temperature reaction zone with temperatures soaring to 1000-1200ºC is established within the kiln. This intense heat enables the reduction of zinc metal compounds by a carbon reducing agent, transforming them into metal zinc vapor that ascends into the gas phase. In this phase, the zinc vapor interacts with atmospheric oxygen, becoming oxidized into zinc oxide dust, which is efficiently captured by the dust collection system along with the flue gas. The outcome is the extraction of a refined low-grade zinc oxide product. Moreover, metals abundant in zinc, such as lead and indium, undergo reduction and oxidation, enhancing the final product, while copper, alongside precious metals like gold and silver, elegantly remain within the kiln slag.
