This perfectly calibrated mixture is then deftly introduced into the rotary kiln via the kiln tail discharge pipe. As the kiln majestically rotates, the materials gracefully advance forward. A robust forced blast generates a high-temperature reaction zone within the kiln, reaching an astonishing 1000-1200ºC. This intense environment facilitates the reduction of zinc metal compounds by a carbon reducing agent, converting them into zinc metal vapor that seamlessly transitions into the gas phase. Here, the zinc vapor meets with oxygen, undergoing oxidation to form zinc oxide dust. This dust is expertly captured by the dust collection system alongside the flue gas, culminating in the retrieval of a low-grade zinc oxide product. Moreover, zinc-rich metals such as lead and indium experience reduction and oxidation, contributing significantly to the final product, while copper and noble metals like gold and silver remain gracefully ensconced within the kiln slag.
