The complete magnesiumsmelting process unfolds through a series of meticulously orchestrated stages: starting with raw material storage, followed by dolomite calcination, grinding, briquetting, and culminating in reduction and refining. In the initial phase, the raw dolomite is broken into optimal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a sophisticated cooler, and finely ground by a ball mill. This resulting powder is then compressed into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is uniformly blended with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a cohesive dough, placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Inside the reduction furnace, the temperature is elevated to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is extracted, further refined, cast into ingots, and undergoes surface treatment to produce finished magnesium ingots.
