Product Introduction
The metallic magnesium production line is an expertly designed rotary kiln, precisely engineered to cater to the unique calcining properties of dolomite, conforming to the demanding process requirements of the renowned Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. As the cornerstone of the dolomite calcining system, this kiln ensures unmatched efficiency and accuracy. products produced by this cutting-edge rotary kiln exhibit remarkable stability and consistent quality, boasting high reactivity and minimal loss on ignition. It perfectly aligns with the rigorous standards of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting, enhancing magnesium extraction rates and optimizing silicon utilization, thereby significantly reducing production costs and the consumption of metallic magnesium,. It is indispensable equipment for dolomite calcination in the magnesium manufacturing industry.
The comprehensive magnesiumsmelting process unfolds through a series of precise stages: starting with raw material storage, progressing through dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and culminating in reduction and refining. Initially, raw dolomite is crushed into optimal sizes (20-40mm) via a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled using a cooler, and finely ground by a ball mill. This powder is then compressed into balls with a ball press. The calcined dolomite is uniformly mixed with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a cohesive mixture, placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. In the reduction furnace, temperatures rise to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is extracted, then refined, cast into ingots, and finally subjected to surface treatment, achieving finished magnesium ingots.
