Product Introduction
The metallic magnesium production line is a state-of-the-art rotary kiln, expertly designed to cater to the specific calcining requirements of dolomite. It meets the stringent process needs of the renowned Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. This kiln is the cornerstone of the dolomite calcining system, providing exceptional efficiency and accuracy. products produced by this advanced rotary kiln are characterized by outstanding stability and uniform quality,, featuring high reactivity and minimal loss on ignition. It perfectly aligns with the rigorous standards of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting, enhancing magnesium extraction rates and optimizing silicon utilization. This significantly reduces production costs and the consumption of metallic magnesium,. It is the essential equipment for dolomite calcination in the magnesium production industry.
The comprehensive magnesiumsmelting process unfolds in carefully orchestrated stages: starting with raw material storage, followed by precise dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and culminating in reduction and refining. The raw dolomite is initially crushed to optimal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, then sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely ground by a ball mill. This powder is compressed into balls with a ball press. The calcined dolomite is then thoroughly mixed with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to create a cohesive dough, placed in heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Within the reduction furnace, temperatures rise to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is extracted, refined, cast into ingots, and undergoes surface treatment to produce finished magnesium ingots.
