This avant-garde process, known as the rotary kiln volatilization method, initiates with the precise blending of zinc oxide ore with expertly measured coke powder or smokeless crushed coal. This perfectly harmonized mixture is skillfully fed into the rotary kiln through the kiln tail discharge pipe. As the kiln majestically turns, the materials advance effortlessly. A robust forced blast generates a high-temperature reaction zone within the kiln, reaching an astounding 1000-1200ºC. This searing heat facilitates the reduction of zinc metal compounds through a carbon reducing agent, converting them into zinc metal vapor, which transitions into the gas phase. In this gaseous state, the zinc vapor encounters oxygen, transforming into zinc oxide dust, which is expertly harvested by the dust collection system along with the flue gas. This results in the production of a low-grade zinc oxide product. Furthermore, zinc-rich metals such as lead and indium undergo reduction and oxidation, enriching the final product, while other valuable metals like copper, gold, and silver remain gracefully within the kiln slag.
