It all begins with the meticulous blending of zinc oxide ore with precise proportions of coke powder or smokeless crushed coal. This expertly crafted mixture is then seamlessly introduced into the kiln via the kiln tail discharge pipe. As the kiln rotates with grace and precision, the materials are gently moved forward. A powerful forced air blast creates a high-temperature reaction zone, reaching breathtaking temperatures of 1000-1200ºC. This searing heat facilitates the reduction of zinc metal compounds by a carbon reducing agent, elegantly transforming them into metal zinc vapor. This vapor, upon meeting oxygen in the air, is skillfully oxidized into zinc oxide dust. Our state-of-the-art dust collection system captures this along with the flue gas, yielding a refined low-grade zinc oxide product. In an additional feat of metallurgical mastery, metals rich in zinc, such as lead and indium, are effectively reduced and oxidized, enhancing the final product. Meanwhile, valuable metals like copper, gold, and silver remain intact within the kiln slag, ready for further processing.
