This innovative process, known as the rotary kiln volatilization method, commences with the precise amalgamation of zinc oxide ore and meticulously measured coke powder or smokeless crushed coal. This impeccably balanced mixture is deftly fed into the rotary kiln through the kiln tail discharge pipe. As the kiln majestically rotates, the materials advance effortlessly forward. A robust forced blast engenders a high-temperature reaction zone within the kiln, achieving an extraordinary 1000-1200ºC. This ferocious heat facilitates the reduction of zinc metal compounds via a carbon reducing agent, transfiguring them into zinc metal vapor that gracefully transitions into the gas phase. Here, the zinc vapor meets oxygen, undergoing oxidation into zinc oxide dust. This dust, along with flue gas, is expertly captured by the dust collection system, resulting in the production of a low-grade zinc oxide product. Moreover, zinc-rich metals such as lead and indium are reduced and oxidized to augment the final product, while copper and exquisite metals like gold and silver remain elegantly ensconced within the kiln slag.
