The gleaming metallic magnesium production masterpiece is a marvel of modern engineering-a rotary kiln designed with precision to master the unique calcining characteristics of dolomite and the specific Pidgeon method requirements for magnesium smelting. It serves as the linchpin of the dolomite calcining system. This cutting-edge products emerging from the rotary kiln are distinguished by their unwaveringly stable and uniform quality, exhibiting extraordinary reactivity and negligible ignition loss. This ensures stringent adherence to the Pidgeon method standards for magnesium smelting, thereby significantly boosting the extraction efficiency of magnesium and optimizing silicon usage, while dramatically slashing the production and consumption expenses linked with metal magnesium. It is the pinnacle of equipment for dolomite calcination in the magnesium industry, setting a new standard of excellence.
The seamless magnesiumsmelting process encompasses raw material storage, dolomite calcination, grinding, briquetting, reduction, and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite is meticulously crushed to precise dimensions (20-40mm) using specialized crushers, then sintered in a rotary kiln and efficiently cooled with a sophisticated cooler. It is further ground into fine powder through advanced ball mill technology and formed into balls using a superior ball press. The calcination takes place in either a rotary or vertical kiln, transforming dolomite into calcined white. This is then intricately blended with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to create a perfect mixture, placed in a heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tank, and subjected to reduction in a furnace, reaching extreme temperatures of 1200-1250°C and a vacuum of 1.33Pa. The process culminates with the extraction of crude magnesium, followed by flux refining, ingot casting, and meticulous surface treatment to produce premium-grade magnesium ingots.
