This innovative design enhances the extraction rate of magnesium and optimizes silicon usage, significantly reducing costs and consumption of metallic magnesium,. It stands as the quintessential apparatus for dolomite calcination in the magnesium production industry.
The comprehensive magnesiumsmelting process unfolds through a series of carefully orchestrated stages. It begins with raw material storage, proceeds through dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and finally reaches reduction and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite is crushed into ideal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely ground by a ball mill. This powder is then compacted into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is uniformly mixed with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders, forming a cohesive paste, and placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. In the reduction furnace, the temperature soars to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is extracted, further refined, cast into ingots, and subjected to surface treatment to yield pristine magnesium ingots.
