This approach not only optimizes the magnesium extraction rate and silicon usage but also markedly cuts down on production costs and consumption of metallic magnesium,. It is undeniably the ultimate equipment for dolomite calcination in the magnesium industry.
The entire magnesiumsmelting process unfolds through a series of carefully orchestrated stages: beginning with raw material storage and proceeding to dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, followed by the reduction and refining phases. Initially, raw dolomite is crushed to optimal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled through a cooler, and milled into a fine powder by a ball mill. This powder is then compacted into balls using a ball press. Next, the calcined dolomite is meticulously blended with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to create a dough, which is then placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Within a reduction furnace, temperatures soar to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa. Here, crude magnesium is skillfully extracted, refined further, cast into ingots, and subjected to surface treatment, culminating in premium-grade magnesium ingots.
