The metallic magnesium production line is a specially designed rotary kiln. It has been meticulously developed to meet the unique calcining characteristics of dolomite and the exacting demands of the renowned Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. This kiln is pivotal in the dolomite calcining system, ensuring maximum efficiency and unmatched precision. products crafted by this rotary kiln exhibit remarkable stability and uniform quality, boasting high activity and minimal ignition loss. The process perfectly adheres to the rigorous requirements of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. This not only enhances the magnesium extraction rate and silicon utilization but also significantly cuts production costs, optimizing the consumption of metallic magnesium,. The comprehensive process of magnesiumsmelting unfolds through meticulously orchestrated stages: beginning with raw material storage, dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, followed by reduction and refinement. Initially, raw dolomite is crushed into optimal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, processed in a rotary kiln, cooled via a cooler, and ground into a fine powder by a ball mill. This powder is then compacted into balls by a ball press. The calcined dolomite is mixed with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a dough, placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. In a reduction furnace, the temperature is precisely controlled at 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa. Here, crude magnesium is refined, cast into ingots, and undergoes surface treatment, culminating in finished magnesium ingots.
