Its innovative design boosts magnesium extraction rates, enhances silicon utilization, and significantly reduces both production costs and the consumption of metallic magnesium,. It is the essential equipment for dolomite calcination within the magnesium manufacturing industry.
The complete magnesiumsmelting process is conducted through a meticulously arranged series of stages: starting with raw material storage, proceeding through dolomite calcination, grinding, briquetting, and concluding with reduction and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite is crushed to optimal sizes (20-40mm) by a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely milled using a ball mill. This powder is then compacted into balls via a ball press. The calcined dolomite is mixed consistently with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a cohesive mix, placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Within the reduction furnace, temperatures are elevated to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, facilitating the extraction of crude magnesium, which is subsequently refined, cast into ingots, and undergoes surface treatment to produce high-quality magnesium ingots.
