Product Introduction
The metallic magnesium production line is an exquisitely engineered rotary kiln, thoughtfully devised to cater to the unique calcining needs of dolomite and the rigorous standards of the renowned Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. This kiln is the cornerstone of the dolomite calcining system, offering unmatched efficiency and precision. products from this cutting-edge rotary kiln exhibit remarkable stability and uniform quality, featuring high reactivity and minimal loss on ignition, it seamlessly fulfills the demanding criteria of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. This design boosts magnesium extraction rates and improves silicon utilization, thereby significantly reducing production costs and metallic magnesium usage,. It is the essential equipment for dolomite calcination in the magnesium manufacturing industry.
The complete magnesiumsmelting process evolves through a series of precise stages: beginning with raw material storage, advancing through dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and culminating in reduction and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite is crushed to optimal sizes (20-40mm), sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely ground by a ball mill. This powder is then compacted into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is uniformly amalgamated with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders, forming a cohesive dough placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Within the reduction furnace, temperatures rise to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is extracted, further refined, cast into ingots, and surface treated to produce pristine magnesium ingots.
