The complete process of magnesiumsmelting unfolds through a series of meticulously orchestrated stages: beginning with raw material storage, proceeding to dolomite calcination, followed by grinding and briquetting, and culminating in reduction and refining. Initially, raw dolomite is reduced to optimal sizes (20-40mm) by a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely ground in a ball mill. This powder is then compressed into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is uniformly blended with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders, forming a cohesive dough, which is placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Inside the reduction furnace, temperatures soar to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is extracted, further refined, cast into ingots, and subjected to surface treatment to produce finished magnesium ingots.
