Product Introduction
The metallic magnesium production line is an expertly crafted rotary kiln, meticulously engineered to cater to the distinctive calcining characteristics of dolomite. This kiln addresses the exacting process requirements of the renowned Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. It is an essential piece of equipment for dolomite calcination within the magnesium manufacturing industry.
The complete process of magnesiumsmelting unfolds through a series of meticulously orchestrated stages: beginning with raw material storage, followed by dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, culminating in reduction and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite is crushed into optimal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely ground by a ball mill. This powder is then compacted into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is uniformly blended with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a cohesive dough, placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Inside the reduction furnace, the temperature is elevated to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is extracted, further refined, cast into ingots, and subjected to surface treatment, yielding finished magnesium ingots.
