Product Description

The metallic magnesium production line is a state-of-the-art rotary kiln, innovatively designed to align with the unique calcining characteristics of dolomite and the precise process requirements of the esteemed Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. This line stands as the centerpiece of the dolomite calcining system, a pinnacle of engineering excellence. The products crafted by this remarkable rotary kiln boast unparalleled stable and uniform quality, exceptional activity and a remarkably low ignition loss. These attributes perfectly align with the stringent process requirements of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting, significantly enhancing the magnesium extraction rate and silicon utilization efficiency, while effectively minimizing the production cost and resource consumption of metal magnesium. It is undoubtedly the quintessential equipment for dolomite calcination in the magnesium industry.
The comprehensive process of magnesium smelting unfolds through a series of meticulous stages: raw material storage, dolomite calcination, grinding, briquetting, reduction, and refining. Initially, the raw material (dolomite) is expertly crushed into precisely sized materials (20-40mm) by a cutting-edge crusher. It is then masterfully sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled through an advanced cooling system, ground into fine powder by an efficient ball mill, and expertly pressed into balls by a high-performance ball press. The calcined dolomite emerges, either in a rotary kiln or vertical kiln, as calcined white. This is adeptly crushed and seamlessly mixed with ferrosilicon powder and fluorite powder to form a consistent dough, which is then placed into a heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tank. This assembly is positioned in a reduction furnace, where it is subjected to precise conditions of 1200-1250°C and a vacuum of 1.33Pa. The result is crude magnesium which subsequently undergoes meticulous flux refining, ingot casting, and surface treatment to yield superior finished magnesium ingots.

Through this, the materials can partially decompose in the preheater, increase the system output and improve thermal efficiency.
There is a vertical cooler at the head of the rotary kiln, which makes full use of the heat contained in the high-temperature whitened material of the rotary kiln to preheat the secondary air to 650°C, thereby improving the thermal efficiency and achieving good economic benefits.
