The metallic magnesium production line is an expertly engineered rotary kiln, crafted with precision to perfectly align with the unique calcining attributes of dolomite and the Pidgeon method's specific requirements for magnesium smelting. As the vital cornerstone of the dolomite calcining system, this state-of-the-art products emerging from the rotary kiln boast consistently stable and homogenous quality, showcasing remarkable activity and minimal ignition loss. This ensures full compliance with Pidgeon method standards for magnesium smelting, thereby enhancing the magnesium extraction rate, optimizing silicon utilization, and significantly reducing the production and consumption costs associated with metal magnesium. It is the quintessential equipment for dolomite calcination within the magnesium sector, setting an unparalleled benchmark for excellence.
The comprehensive magnesiumsmelting process encompasses every stage from raw material storage to premium magnesium ingot production: It begins with precision-crushing raw dolomite into optimal sizes (20-40mm) using specialized crushers. The material is then sintered in a rotary kiln and effectively cooled by a sophisticated cooler, ground into fine powder through advanced ball mill machinery, and formed into balls with a high-performance ball press. The calcination occurs in a rotary or vertical kiln, transforming dolomite into calcined white, which is meticulously combined with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to create a perfect dough. This is placed in a heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tank and subjected to reduction in a furnace at 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa. Finally, the process culminates with the extraction of crude magnesium, followed by flux refining, ingot casting, and meticulous surface treatment, resulting in premium magnesium ingots.
