This design not only optimizes the magnesium extraction rate but also enhances silicon utilization, significantly reducing production costs and conserving metallic magnesium,. It is an essential piece of equipment for dolomite calcination within the magnesium manufacturing industry.
The comprehensive magnesiumsmelting process unfolds through a sequence of precise stages: starting with raw material storage, progressing through dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and concluding with reduction and refining. Initially, raw dolomite is crushed to optimal dimensions (20-40mm) using a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely ground by a ball mill. This powder is then compressed into balls with a ball press. The calcined dolomite is uniformly blended with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a cohesive dough, placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Inside the reduction furnace, the temperature is elevated to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is extracted, further refined, cast into ingots, and subjected to surface treatment, resulting in finished magnesium ingots.
