The metallic magnesium production line is a masterfully designed rotary kiln, crafted with precision to accommodate the specific calcining properties of dolomite. It adeptly meets the high standards of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting, acting as the keystone of the dolomite calcining system, where it achieves unmatched efficiency and accuracy. products produced by this advanced rotary kiln exhibit exceptional stability and consistently high quality,, featuring high reactivity and minimal loss on ignition. It perfectly satisfies the demanding specifications of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting, boosting magnesium yield and optimizing silicon use, thereby significantly reducing production costs and magnesium consumption.. It is an essential apparatus for dolomite calcination within the magnesium production industry.
The complete magnesiumsmelting process unfolds through a meticulously orchestrated series of steps. It commences with the storage of raw materials, proceeds through dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and concludes with reduction and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite is crushed to the ideal size (20-40mm), sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled, and finely ground in a ball mill. This powder is then compacted into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is uniformly blended with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a consistent mixture, which is then placed in heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Within the reduction furnace, the conditions are raised to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, allowing for the extraction of crude magnesium, which is further refined, cast into ingots, and surface-treated to produce finished magnesium ingots.
