This kiln is the cornerstone of the dolomite calcining system, offering unmatched efficiency and precision. products produced by this cutting-edge rotary kiln exhibit remarkable stability and uniform quality, featuring high reactivity and negligible loss on ignition, it seamlessly fulfills the stringent criteria of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. This innovative design elevates the magnesium extraction rate and optimizes silicon utilization, significantly reducing production costs and metallic magnesium consumption,. It is the essential equipment for dolomite calcination in the magnesium production industry.
The complete magnesiumsmelting process unfolds through a series of precise stages: commencing with raw material storage, followed by dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and concluding with reduction and refining. Initially, raw dolomite is crushed into ideal sizes (20-40mm) with a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely milled by a ball mill. This powder is then compressed into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is subsequently blended with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a cohesive mixture, placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. In the reduction furnace, the temperature rises to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is extracted, further refined, cast into ingots, and treated to produce finished magnesium ingots.
