It seamlessly fulfills the demanding requirements of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting, enhancing the magnesium extraction rate while optimizing silicon utilization, effectively reducing production expenses and conserving metallic magnesium.. This equipment is the quintessential choice for dolomite calcination in the magnesium production industry.
The entire magnesiumsmelting process unfolds through a precisely orchestrated sequence of stages: starting from raw material storage, moving to dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and concluding with reduction and refining. Initially, raw dolomite is meticulously crushed to ideal dimensions (20-40mm) via a crusher, sintered within a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely milled by a ball mill. The resultant powder is then compacted into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is uniformly amalgamated with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders, forming a cohesive dough, and placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Within the reduction furnace, the temperature is elevated to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, allowing crude magnesium extraction, which is further refined, cast into ingots, and undergoes surface treatment to produce finished magnesium ingots.
