Product Introduction
The metallic magnesium production line introduces an exceptionally designed rotary kiln, tailored with precision to accommodate the specific calcining needs of dolomite and the rigorous process standards of the renowned Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. Serving as the core component of the dolomite calcining system, this kiln exemplifies outstanding efficiency and precision. products produced by this advanced rotary kiln showcase remarkable stability and uniform quality, featuring high reactivity and minimal loss on ignition. It perfectly aligns with the demanding specifications of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting, optimizing magnesium extraction rates and increasing silicon utilization, which substantially reduces production costs and the consumption of metallic magnesium,. It is the essential equipment for dolomite calcination in the magnesium production sector.
The complete magnesiumsmelting process unfolds through a series of meticulously organized stages: commencing with raw material storage, progressing through dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and culminating in reduction and refining. Initially, raw dolomite is fragmented into ideal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, then sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely milled by a ball mill. This powder is compressed into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is then uniformly combined with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to create a cohesive mixture, placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Within the reduction furnace, temperatures escalate to 1200-1250°C under a 1.33Pa vacuum, where crude magnesium is extracted, further refined, cast into ingots, and subjected to surface treatment to achieve finished magnesium ingots.
