It significantly reduces production costs and metallic magnesium consumption,. It remains the indispensable equipment for dolomite calcination within the magnesium manufacturing sector.
The complete process of magnesiumsmelting unfolds through a meticulously orchestrated series of stages: starting with raw material storage, followed by dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and culminating in reduction and refining. Initially, raw dolomite is expertly broken down into optimal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely ground by a ball mill. The resulting powder is then compressed into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is uniformly mixed with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a cohesive dough, placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Within the reduction furnace, the temperature is elevated to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa to extract crude magnesium, which is further refined, cast into ingots, and undergoes surface treatment to yield finished magnesium ingots.
