It flawlessly meets the rigorous requirements of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting, enhancing the magnesium extraction rate and optimizing silicon utilization. This significantly reduces production costs and the consumption of metallic magnesium,. It stands as the indispensable equipment for dolomite calcination in the magnesium manufacturing sector.
The complete process of magnesiumsmelting unfolds through a series of meticulously crafted stages: starting with raw material storage, followed by dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, culminating in reduction and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite is broken into optimal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely ground by a ball mill. This powder is then compressed into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is then uniformly mixed with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a cohesive dough, placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Within the reduction furnace, the temperature is elevated to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is extracted, further refined, cast into ingots, and subjected to surface treatment, yielding finished magnesium ingots.
