This innovative design optimizes the magnesium extraction rate while enhancing silicon utilization, significantly cutting down on production costs and reducing metallic magnesium consumption,. It is indispensable for dolomite calcination in the magnesium manufacturing sector, setting new benchmarks in operational excellence.
The comprehensive magnesiumsmelting process unfolds through a meticulously orchestrated sequence of stages: it commences with raw material storage, transitions through dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and culminates in reduction and refining. Initially, raw dolomite is broken down to optimal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely ground by a ball mill. This powder is compressed into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is then uniformly blended with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a cohesive dough, placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Within the reduction furnace, the temperature is elevated to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, facilitating the extraction of crude magnesium, which is then refined, cast into ingots, and given a surface treatment to produce finished magnesium ingots.
