Product Introduction
The metallic magnesium production line represents the pinnacle of rotary kiln design, crafted with precision to meet the unique calcining demands of dolomite. It is tailored specifically for the rigorous Pidgeon method of magnesium smelting, ensuring this kiln is the cornerstone of dolomite processing systems with unmatched precision and efficiency. products produced by this advanced rotary kiln exhibit remarkable stability, delivering consistently high quality, characterized by high reactivity and minimal loss on ignition. The design ensures it surpasses the stringent requirements of the Pidgeon method, optimizing magnesium extraction rates and enhancing silicon utilization. This significantly reduces production costs and the consumption of metallic magnesium,. It is the essential equipment for dolomite calcination in the magnesium manufacturing industry.
The magnesium smelting process is a meticulous and sequential operation: It begins with raw material storage, followed by dolomite calcination, grinding, briquetting, and culminates in reduction and refining. Initially, raw dolomite is crushed to ideal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher. It is then sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely ground by a ball mill. The powder is compressed into balls using a ball press. The calcined dolomite is uniformly mixed with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a dough, which is placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. In the reduction furnace, the temperature is elevated to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is extracted, refined further, cast into ingots, and undergoes surface treatment to produce finished magnesium ingots.
