This cutting-edge method, the rotary kiln volatilization process, is a marvel of modern engineering. It begins with the meticulous blending of zinc oxide ore with either coke powder or smokeless crushed coal in exacting proportions. This precise mixture is seamlessly introduced into the rotary kiln through the kiln tail discharge pipe. As the rotary kiln rotates with purpose, the materials are gently propelled forward. Accompanied by a forceful blast of air, a high-temperature reaction zone, reaching an impressive 1000-1200ºC, is created within the kiln. This searing heat allows for the reduction of zinc metal compounds by a carbon reducing agent, converting them into metal zinc vapor in the gas phase. Here, the zinc vapor gracefully encounters oxygen from the ambient air, undergoing oxidation to form zinc oxide dust. This dust is expertly captured by the dust collection system alongside the flue gas, resulting in the extraction of a low-grade zinc oxide product. Additionally, metals rich in zinc, such as lead and indium, undergo reduction and oxidation, adding to the final product. Meanwhile, copper and precious metals like gold and silver are artistically retained within the kiln slag, enhancing the overall value and purity of the output.
