Product Introduction
The metallic magnesium production line features a masterfully designed rotary kiln, precision-engineered to meet the specific calcining needs of dolomite and the demanding conditions of the renowned Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. This kiln acts as the cornerstone of the dolomite calcining operation, offering unmatched efficiency and exactness. products produced by this cutting-edge rotary kiln exhibit remarkable stability and uniform quality, showcasing high reactivity and ensuring minimal loss on ignition. It perfectly aligns with the stringent standards of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting, enhancing magnesium extraction rates and optimizing silicon utilization, which dramatically reduces production costs and metallic magnesium use. Moreover, it stands as the crucial equipment for dolomite calcination within the magnesium manufacturing industry.
The comprehensive magnesiumsmelting process unfolds through a precise series of steps: commencing with raw material storage, progressing through dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and culminating in reduction and refining. Initially, raw dolomite is crushed to the ideal size range of 20-40mm, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled, and finely ground by a ball mill. This resulting powder is then compressed into balls with a ball press. The calcined dolomite is uniformly blended with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a cohesive mass, placed in heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks, and subjected to temperatures of 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa in a reduction furnace. Here, crude magnesium is extracted, purified, cast into ingots, and undergoes surface treatment to produce finished magnesium ingots.
