This innovative method, known as the rotary kiln volatilization technique, starts when zinc oxide ore is meticulously mixed with precise amounts of coke powder or smokeless crushed coal. This expertly prepared blend is fed into the rotary kiln through the kiln tail discharge pipe. The rotary kiln's elegant rotation gently advances the materials forward, while a powerful blast creates a high-temperature reaction zone, reaching an astounding 1000-1200ºC. Within this intense heat, zinc metal compounds are reduced by a carbon reducing agent, transforming them into metal zinc vapor that gracefully enters the gas phase. The zinc vapor then elegantly reacts with oxygen from the air, oxidizing into zinc oxide dust. This dust, along with flue gas, is skillfully captured by the sophisticated dust collection system, resulting in the extraction of a low-grade zinc oxide product. Additionally, metals rich in zinc, such as lead and indium, undergo reduction and oxidation to enhance the final product. Meanwhile, copper and precious metals like gold and silver remain beautifully intact within the kiln slag.

The backbone of this pioneering process system is an impressive ensemble of equipment, ensuring flawless operation: a robust Roots blower, the essential rotary kiln, a kiln tail smoke chamber, a surface air cooler, a dust collector, a desulfurization system, a batching system, a granulator, and an intricate network of state-of-the-art conveying equipment.
