This sophisticated method, identified as the rotary kiln volatilization technique, commences with the precise blending of zinc oxide ore and either coke powder or smokeless crushed coal. Fed through the kiln tail discharge pipe, this blend begins its transformative journey. As the rotary kiln rotates with majestic elegance, the materials advance with precision. A carefully controlled forced air blast creates a high-temperature zone between 1000-1200ºC inside the kiln. Within this fiery arena, the reduction of zinc metal compounds occurs, facilitated by a carbon reducing agent, transforming them into zinc vapor. This vapor then reacts with atmospheric oxygen to form zinc oxide dust, expertly captured alongside flue gas by an advanced dust collection system, yielding a low-grade zinc oxide product. Additionally, elements like lead and indium are reduced, contributing to the final output, while treasured metals like copper, gold, and silver remain gracefully within the kiln slag, testament to the kiln's precision.
