This high-performance products produced in the rotary kiln maintain a consistently stable and uniform quality,, exhibiting exceptional activity and minimal ignition loss, ensuring full adherence to the Pidgeon method standards for magnesium smelting. This significantly boosts the magnesium extraction rate and optimizes the utilization of silicon, while substantially reducing the costs of production and consumption associated with metal magnesium. It is the indispensable equipment for dolomite calcination within the magnesium industry, setting the standard for unrivaled excellence.
The all-encompassing magnesiumsmelting process involves raw material storage, dolomite calcination, grinding, briquetting, reduction, and refining. Initially, the raw dolomite is precision-crushed to optimal sizes (20-40mm) using specialized crushers, then meticulously sintered in a rotary kiln and effectively cooled by an advanced cooler. It is further pulverized into fine powder with state-of-the-art ball mill machinery and shaped into balls using a high-performance ball press. Calcination occurs in a rotary or vertical kiln, transforming dolomite into calcined white. This is then expertly combined with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to create an ideal dough, placed in a heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tank, and reduced in a furnace at 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa. The process concludes with the extraction of crude magnesium, followed by flux refining, ingot casting, and thorough surface treatment to produce superior magnesium ingots.
