This sophisticated design optimizes magnesium extraction and enhances silicon utilization, substantially reducing production costs and consumption of metallic magnesium,. It is considered the essential equipment for dolomite calcination within the magnesium manufacturing industry.
The comprehensive magnesiumsmelting process unfolds through a series of precise stages: beginning with raw material storage, followed by dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, culminating in reduction and refining. Initially, raw dolomite is crushed into optimal sizes (20-40mm) using a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and ground into a fine powder by a ball mill. This powder is then compressed into balls via a ball press. The calcined dolomite is uniformly blended with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders to form a cohesive mixture, placed into durable heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Within the reduction furnace, the temperature elevates to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, allowing crude magnesium extraction, which is then refined, cast into ingots, and surface-treated to produce finished magnesium ingots.
