Product Introduction
The metallic magnesium production line is a masterfully engineered rotary kiln, designed with precision to meet the unique calcining demands of dolomite. Tailored for the exacting process of the renowned Pidgeon method in magnesium smelting, this kiln is the backbone of the dolomite calcining system, providing unmatched efficiency and precision. products crafted by this cutting-edge rotary kiln exhibit remarkable stability and uniform quality, featuring high reactivity and minimal loss on ignition, adeptly satisfying the stringent criteria of the Pidgeon method for magnesium smelting. This advanced design enhances magnesium extraction rates and optimizes silicon efficiency, markedly reducing production expenses and metallic magnesium usage,. It stands as an essential instrument for dolomite calcination in the magnesium manufacturing industry.
The entire magnesiumsmelting process unfolds through a series of sophisticated stages: starting with raw material storage, advancing through dolomite calcination, grinding, and briquetting, and culminating in reduction and refining. Initially, raw dolomite is crushed into optimal sizes (20-40mm) with a crusher, sintered in a rotary kiln, cooled in a cooler, and finely ground by a ball mill. This powder is then compressed into balls by a ball press. The calcined dolomite is thoroughly mixed with ferrosilicon and fluorite powders, forming a cohesive dough, placed into heat-resistant stainless steel reduction tanks. Inside the reduction furnace, the temperature is elevated to 1200-1250°C under a vacuum of 1.33Pa, where crude magnesium is extracted, further refined, cast into ingots, and given surface treatment to produce finished magnesium ingots.
